Important: By accessing or using URentMy ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using URentMy ("the Platform"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Definitions
- User: anyone browsing or interacting with the Platform.
- Renter: a User who temporarily rents an item listed on the Platform.
- Lister: a User who lists their item for rent.
- Booking: a confirmed request to rent an item for specified dates.
- Host Fee: 15% of the rental subtotal that URentMy retains.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction. By registering, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
4. Account Security
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
5. Listings & Bookings
- Listers guarantee that their items are in good, safe working condition, and comply with any legal or safety regulations.
- Renters agree to return items clean, undamaged, and on time. Late or damaged returns may incur fees or deductions from security deposits.
- All bookings are subject to availability and Lister approval. We reserve the right to cancel a Booking for safety, compliance, or fraudulent activity.
6. Fees & Payments
URentMy collects a 15% platform fee on each rental transaction. Payments are processed via Stripe Connect Express. Payouts to Listers occur after the rental period, minus any applicable refunds, security deposit deductions, or dispute resolutions.
7. Security Deposits & Cancellations
Security deposits, where required, are held via Stripe until the end of the rental. Cancellation policies are set per listing—cancellations may trigger partial or full forfeiture of the rental fee and deposit.
8. Trust & Safety
We maintain identity verification, reviews, and dispute resolution to foster trust. Any abusive behavior, harassment, or illegal activity will lead to account suspension or termination.
9. Intellectual Property
All Platform content, trademarks, and code are owned by URentMy or its licensors. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any materials without our written permission.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
Important Legal Notice
Users accept the Service and all rented items strictly "as‐is" and "as‐available." You make no warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- • merchantability
- • fitness for a particular purpose
- • non‐infringement
- • accuracy, reliability, uptime, or completeness of any content
11. Assumption of Risk
By completing a booking, each Renter acknowledges that:
- • they have inspected the item (or had the chance to do so) before use
- • they assume all risks of loss, damage, theft or destruction to the item from the moment of pick‐up/dispatch until return
- • they alone are responsible for safe operation, maintenance, and storage of the item
12. Damage, Theft & Loss
Renter Responsibility
- • Renter must report any loss, theft or damage within 24 hours of discovery.
- • Renter is liable for the full cost of repair or replacement at current market value (plus any administrative fees).
Vendor Responsibility
- • Vendor must disclose any pre‐existing damage and properly maintain their listed items.
- • Repeated disputes over undisclosed damage may lead to suspension.
Our platform acts only as an intermediary. We are not responsible for any damage, theft or loss of rented items.
13. Personal Injury, Death & Property Damage
Critical Safety Notice
All users use rented items at their own risk. Neither URentMy nor its officers, employees or agents are liable for:
- • any bodily injury (including death)
- • property damage
- • consequential, indirect, incidental or punitive losses
This waiver applies even if URentMy was negligent or otherwise at fault.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless URentMy, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees and agents from any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:
- • your use of the Service or any rented item
- • your breach of these Terms
- • any third-party claim related to your conduct
15. Insurance
We strongly recommend that all users maintain adequate insurance to cover:
- • loss, theft or damage to rented items
- • personal injury or property damage arising from use of rented items
Neither URentMy nor its insurance provider will cover uninsured losses.
16. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, URentMy's total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms, your use of the Service or any rented item is strictly limited to the total fees you have paid to us in the six (6) months preceding the event giving rise to liability.
17. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, fraud, or any harmful or illegal conduct.
18. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or banner on the Platform. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
19. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising under or relating to these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
